Project Manager.
JOB PURPOSE:
Project Management's mission is to drive the critical decisions necessary to bring the system live on time. Project Management also creates the system requirements specification which is used to drive the development and implementation process. Finally, Project Management must facilitate the day-to-day coordination required to deliver the system in a manner consistent with organizational standards. Project Management has a key communication and coordination role, they draft and maintain the requirements specification. Along with Development, Project Management must ensure that the system requirements specification can be implemented technically with available resources.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Maintaining external technical coordination and communication. This is a key factor that enables the development group to work efficiently.
- Exercising change control over the system requirements specification once a selected set of functions is completed for a specific release.
- Collating the project schedule from each team role, and managing the master schedule.
- Project Management Role on the Team of Peers
- Write the functional specifications with input from other team leaders.
- Define how the product will interoperate with external software systems and components.
- Conduct technical reviews of product specification.
- Implement change control over the system requirements specification document.
- Coordinate team reviews after each project milestone; adjust schedule and features, if necessary.
- Track project progress and manage schedule.
- Deliver a quality product.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Liberal Arts degree or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: 1+ years of Project Management service experience required. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of programs with Windows operation and MS Office Suite a must. 5+ years use of the Internet required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Project managers need strong technical skills to work with Development on critical decisions. They need to understand architectural implications of the project. Project Managers must have the discipline to track project progress. Additionally, Project Managers need strong communication and presentation skills in order to be effective facilitators and negotiators. Medical terminology a plus.
