Instant Access to Context Sensitive Information
When collecting complex clinical data, sometimes we all need a little help to remind us exactly what is required. This is even more the case for busy investigative sites who may be conducting multiple studies concurrently. Having them refer to a study guide booklet may be an option, but this method is expensive, hard to update, and the booklet is prone to getting lost just when needed.
MedNet has developed Hover Help to obviate the need for external references sources to ensure the collection of appropriate data. Hover Help is a context sensitive, flexible, and intuitive-to-use system that can be associated with specific data fields or with general sections on a page.
When a user of the system hovers their mouse pointer over the blue international information symbol "i", a small text box will appear containing approximately 20 words of information designed to jog the memory. Moving the cursor away from the symbol will cause the hover help to disappear.
Where more complex or lengthy information is required, the user can click on the "more" symbol to display a larger text box. This larger text box is both movable and "sticky": movable, in that it can be repositioned on the screen as desired so it can be used as a reference when working on the data field(s); "sticky" in that, unlike the truncated text box, the extended help box will remain present until the user closes it by clicking in the upper right corner where indicated. Defined by the sponsor/CRO during the development of the study, each Hover Help context sensitive text box can accept up to 4000 characters of explanatory information.
