Providing Guided Workflow for Superior Study Compliance
It's no secret that most people's workloads just keep getting heavier and heavier. With multiple competing priorities and never enough hours in the day, you often hear the cry from sites, monitors and others - "Just make it easy for me!" We listened. And we developed "To Do Lists" (TDLs).
The TDL concept is integral to the MedNet ENLIGHTENTM eClinical Solution. In essence, it provides users such as Research Coordinators, Investigators and Monitors with an automatically created, self updating task list of actions required to keep the study on track. Specifically, the TDLs serve up user specific assignments that are based on that individual's role in the study, and generated by normal study activity.
For example, if a Research Coordinator (RC) partially completes a visit form, and then has to attend to other work, a "Form Incomplete" message will appear within the RC's TDL. Simply clicking on this TDL task will take the RC back to this form for completion. Another example: if the data entered indicates that a protocol deviation or adverse event has occurred, the RC's TDL will be automatically populated with a task reminding the RC of the need to complete the appropriate online document and providing a link to the relevant form. Once the form is completed, the associated TDL task will automatically be removed from that user's TDL.
Since the TDLs are role-specific, a monitor will only receive assignments pertaining to monitoring, an Investigator will only see tasks related to their role (e.g., sign-off), and so on. Workflow is further enhanced by the interrelationships of different users' TDLs. For instance, if a Monitor reviews a form and queries it, a new task is automatically created and inserted into the appropriate RC's TDL for further action. Then, when the RC responds, a new task will appear in the Monitor's TDL, with a hyperlink to the data field in question and the RC's response.
The TDL is so powerful and easy-to-use in keeping track of all required tasks, that users often tell us that they manage all their study activities using this tool alone.
